It is a hard pill to swallow of your loved ones’ demise. You wish they could come back to life to fulfill the life you thought they haven’t.
And so you clung on seeking to find if there is life after death if there’s anything like reincarnation. As a Christian, you are eager to know what the Bible says about reincarnation.
Before we go down that path, you should know the concept of reincarnation.
Concept of reincarnation
Reincarnation is the rebirth of a soul into a new has little or no memory of the past lives. Certain religions believe that someone who has not fulfilled his or her mission on earth would come back for it.
They also believe that if a person did good things in the past life, the rebirth could lead to having a better position. But if he or she did something bad in the past life, it will lead to a lower social position on rebirth.
Those who died with guilt or without repentance will come back to amend their ways. These religions that believe in reincarnation are Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism, and Kabbalah Judaism.
This belief may not have gone well with psychological reasoning. How can a person come back to amend his or her ways if he or she does not have any clue of their past life?
Some people mistake the resemblance of someone they know from the past as reincarnation. Scientifically speaking, it may be a dominant gene passed from one generation to another.
What the Bible says about reincarnation
Everything about the Bible opposes reincarnation. Man is a creation by God made with matter, soul, and spirit. Therefore, this makes man unique from other creatures.
Unlike God, a man’s body is mortal and will one day pass away. The body decays, and the spirit and soul go to God.
This immortal part of man is either glorified to eternal life or condemned to eternal death. It all depends on how you lived your life on earth.
Some bible verses could put you to track to know that the idea of reincarnation is a codswallop.
Hebrew 9:27: Everyone must die once, and after that be judged by God.
Job 7:9-10 Like a cloud that fades and is gone, people die and never return. They are forgotten by all who knew them.
Psalm 78:39: He remembered that they were only mortal beings, like a wind that blows by and is gone.
John 5:25, 28-29: I am telling you the truth, the time is coming. The time has already come when the dead will hear the piece of the son of God, and those who hear it will come to life. Do not be surprised at this, the time is coming when all the dead will hear his voice and come out of their graves. Those who have done good will rise and live, and those who have done evil will and be condemned.
2 Corinthians 5:1: For we know that when this tent we live in, our body here on earth is torn down. God will have a house in heaven for is to live in, a home he has made which will last forever.
Daniel 12:2: Many of those who have already died will live again. Some will enjoy eternal life, and some will suffer eternal disgrace.
Ecclesiastes 12:7: Our bodies will return to the dust of the earth, and the breath of life will go back to God, who gave it to us.
Job 16:22: My years are passing now, and I walk the road of no return.
Moreover, most people had mistaken reincarnation for resurrection. But reincarnation is not resurrection.
Both concepts are sare different from each other. Let’s take a look at their differences.
Difference between Reincarnation and Resurrection
Reincarnation is the rebirth of a soul into a new body while resurrection is bringing back the dead to life.
Reincarnation involves a new body while resurrection involves the same body that came to life.
Christians believe in the resurrection of the dead. Jesus resurrected on the third day after his death. Jesus also resurrected Lazarus after died. But not in reincarnation.
Souls go back to their maker and await their judgment after death. They are not sent back to life to a new body for reasons best known to the believers of such.
Reincarnation is believed by certain religions who think that souls will come back to life with a new body to fulfill what they haven’t accomplished.
The Bible had made it clear that after death comes judgment. There is no second life after death. Bear the loss of your loved ones and relief yourself from the theory of reincarnation.
