Introduction
Wisdom is the ability to apply relevant knowledge in an insightful way, it is also the ability to make decisions based on the combination of knowledge, experience, and intuitive understanding and Discernment is the ability to distinguish and judge wisely between things. This is the general or dictionary meaning of wisdom and understanding.
In the kingdom of God wisdom and Discernment is more than that. Wisdom is the rightful application of knowledge gotten from the undiluted word of God for exploits and greatness, while discernment is the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, good and evil, and also the times and seasons.
Wisdom and Discernment are gifts of the Holy Spirit and it is available for any born-again
The gift of wisdom and Discernment is a gift that every believer should crave because it makes for giant and exploit to anyone who has them. We saw this gift at work in the life of Daniel and the three Hebrew boys; it distinguished them and made them great in the land of their captivity, that they lived like free men.
We also saw how powerful Solomon became because of the Spirit of wisdom and discernment that was at work in him, Solomon by the Spirit of wisdom and discernment work in him made him make one of the best judgments recorded in the bible. By that Spirit, he was able to discern who the real mother of the child is.
A rare case of wisdom and judgment at the time. God was fully at work in his life and calling by the operation of the Spirit of wisdom and discernment in him.
Jesus also operated in these gifts as we saw in his affairs all through his earthly ministry, the bible records in Luke 2:40 that Jesus grew, waxed strong in Spirit, filled with wisdom. So the Spirit of wisdom and discernment was at work in Him.
The only requirement for these gifts of the Holy Spirit is the fear of the Lord as recorded in proverbs 1:7. It is the fear of the Lord and walking in the tenets of His word that brings about the release of the Spirit of wisdom and discernment.
Crave for these gifts earnestly and our God who gives liberally to those who thirst and hunger for them will shower you with them.
Prayers for Wisdom and discernment spirit
Father Lord, I thank you for the gift of life and the guiding my destiny to a greater height, in the name of Jesus.
Father Lord, I thank you for protecting and keeping me from all dangers of the enemy and upholding me from every evil marauder, in the name of Jesus.
Father Lord, thank you for you have not allowed the devil and his agents to bear rule over my life and destiny, in the name of Jesus.
Father Lord, by the blood of the covenant, I ask that you cleanse and wash me from every sin and keep me whiter than snow, in the name of Jesus.
Father Lord, I come to your presence with a heart full of desires for the spirit of wisdom and discernment, as I pray to you, meet me at the point of my needs and grant my heart desire, in the name of Jesus.
Father Lord, I pray that you would endue me with the spirit of wisdom because you give to anyone who asks you without reproach, in the name of Jesus. James 1:5.
Father Lord, by your word, I receive the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding for greater impact in life, in the name of Jesus.
Father Lord, the Hebrew boys were ten times better than their colleagues, therefore, I receive the wisdom that will make me ten times better than my colleagues, in the name of Jesus. Daniel 1:20.
Father Lord, I receive knowledge and skill in all wisdom and learning as you endowed Daniel and the three Hebrew boys, in the name of Jesus. Daniel 1:17.
Father Lord, I receive the spirit of excellence that will distinguish me from others, in the name of Jesus. Daniel 6:3.
Father Lord, I receive the wisdom from above that is pure, peaceable and gentle, in the name of Jesus. James 3:17
Father Lord, grant me the wisdom for exploits in my area of calling, in the name of Jesus.
Father Lord, wisdom is a defense and it gives life to them that have it, I ask for the spirit of wisdom for defense and the fullness of life, in the name of Jesus. Ecclesiastes 7:12.
Father Lord, cause your spirit of wisdom, knowledge and understanding to rest upon me as did Jesus, in the name of Jesus. Isaiah 11:2.

Father Lord, the Triune nature of God is wisdom and discernment personified and they live in me, therefore I decree and declare that I walk in wisdom and discernment above all my contemporaries and I am singled out for greater anywhere I found myself, in the name of Jesus.
Father Lord, I walk in the light of the wisdom and discernment from above that empowers me to scatter the chains of darkness that is lurking in and around my life, in the name of Jesus.
Father Lord, I receive the spirit of wisdom and discernment that breaks every yoke of marital delay and makes for marital settlement and peace, in the name of Jesus.
