Not Into Side Effects? Me Either. Here’s What I Experienced Using Thrive

digital smart

The more complex the system, the more that can go wrong. This is why there are countless online tech support forums for using digital smart devices and not a single one for helping people troubleshoot their abacus. But as complex as modern computers are, they’re nothing compared to the awe-inspiring sophistication of the human body. With this in mind, it’s not surprising that the things we introduce to this living system often come with unintended consequences. Since  everything’s connected, every action has the potential of producing equal, opposite, and adverse reactions.

And that’s where side effects come from.

As human beings continue to introduce more and more synthetic chemicals into their bodies, the risk of experiencing unwanted side effects is growing. At the same time, as we become more aware of just how dangerous some of these designer food chemicals can be, there’s an increasingly widespread pushback towards the natural. It only makes sense — evolution has streamlined our systems to fit the natural world; suddenly forcing them to absorb fabricated substances sending them into uncharted territory.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that side effects suck, and they’re everywhere. So, when a friend suggested I give some new health-supplement system a try, I was (shall we say) skeptical. But I’m also curious. And when more than 10 million people swear by a product, I start to take notice and wonder why. So, I went ahead and signed up for the Le-Vel Thrive Experience, and this is what I learned in regards to Thrive side effects…

Le-Vel Thrive (Some Quick Background Info)

For those who don’t quite know what I’m talking about, let me give you a quick rundown of Le-Vel and the Thrive Experience:

Le-Vel is a company in the health-and-wellness space that provides nutritional supplementation products. Founded in 2012, the company quickly gained prominence and in less than a decade had generated almost 3 billion  dollars in sales. A lot of this can be attributed to the Le-Vel Thrive Experience — a daily three-step morning routine  of nutritional supplements  paired with personal health and fitness goals. This program includes capsules, shakes, and wearable nutrition (called Thrive Derma Fusion Technology, or DFT).

The idea is that the user wakes up, takes the capsules, drinks the shake, and then applies a DFT on a dry, lean part of the body; each of these steps plays a key role with a unique nutritional formula that (when used in line with the product instructions) are supposed to help users fill nutritional gaps in their diets while also managing their weight, supporting healthy joint function, improving digestion, enhancing immunity, sharpening cognitive function, and more.

Those are some pretty big ideals. But I’m not here to talk about whether the Thrive Experience delivers (although I will get to that later); I’m here to talk about Thrive side effects, and that means taking a look at ingredients.

Thrive Experience Ingredients

Here’s a quick tip for amateur scientists: If you want to identify possible side effects without using yourself as a guinea pig, start with ingredient lists.

From the capsules, to the shake mix, to the DFTs, each of these products is full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, probiotics, digestive enzymes, and plant extracts  for filling in those nutrition gaps we mentioned earlier. And honestly, this is fantastic. It’s a widely recognized problem that the modern diet is too calorie-intense while also being nutrient deficient. These products are essentially nutrient bombs designed to give you a blast of nutrition to begin your day, followed by a steady supply of nutrients to help keep you going (thanks to the wearable DFT).

Seriously. I see no problems here.

But there are other ingredients found in Thrive products that are worth closer inspection. Reviewing the nutritional data for the Thrive capsule (for men and women), shake mix, and DFTs, here’s some of what we find:

  • B. lactis
  • L. acidophilus
  • L. casei
  • L. rhamnosus
  • Garcinia Cambogia
  • Glucosamine
  • Green Coffee Bean
  • Theobromine
  • White Willow Bark
  • Ginger Root
  • CoQ10
  • ForsLean®
  • Cosmoperine®

Although lists like these can look daunting, it doesn’t actually take much research (i.e. Googling) to find out exactly what each of these ingredients is and what it does. This is how you’ll find any hidden chemicals or dangerous additives that may be lurking behind the scenes. And what did I find? Take a look:

  • B. lactis, L. acidophilus, L. casei, and L. rhamnosus are all healthy forms of natural digestive enzymes that help improve gut health.

  • Garcinia Cambogia is a fruit that has been shown to support healthy weight management.

  • Glucosamine is a nutritional resource the body uses to build and rebuild tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and the fluid surrounding joints.

  • Green Coffee Beans contain powerful antioxidants and may also help support healthy lipid levels, help maintain optimal blood sugar, and support improved liver function.

  • Theobromine is a naturally occurring plant compound that lowers blood pressure, improves circulation, and helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

  • White Willow Bark is a natural pain reliever and is anti-inflammatory.

  • Ginger Root provides anti-inflammatory and antioxidant support while also helping combat obesity.

  • CoQ10 is a natural antioxidant and has been linked to improved heart function, reduced cholesterol levels, and improved energy production.

  • ForsLean® is another name for Coleus forskohlii Root extract, which has been heavily researched and found to promote lean muscle growth and fat reduction.

  • Cosmoperine® is a derivative of black powder that improves the bioavailability of other nutrients.

Honestly, I was blown away. Each of these ingredients comes from natural sources and each one provides a valuable benefit. There are no filler additives or dangerous chemicals to be found. In other words, these ingredients are essentially side-effect free.

But could the same be said for the Thrive Experience as a whole? There was only one way for me to find out.

My Thrive Experience

I may have been skeptical when I first heard about Le-Vel Thrive, but after digging through the ingredient lists I felt a lot more confident. Everything included in these products looked natural and purposeful, and natural ingredients are always more likely to play nice. So, when my package arrived with my 30-day supply of capsules, shake mix, and DFTs, I didn’t hesitate to get started.

Fast forward 1 month, and here’s what I have to report about Thrive side effects:

Nothing; I didn’t experience a single negative reaction… and I was really looking for them.

Every morning for 30 days I woke up and took two Thrive capsules with a full glass of water. I did my morning stretches and a few exercises for about half an hour and then I drank a Thrive Shake. Then I took my morning shower and switched out my Thrive DFT. I followed every step of the instructions and at no point did it feel like the Thrive Experience was affecting me in any negative way.

But it was affecting me in positive ways. Within a week I had noticeably more energy and focus. I wasn’t tired during the day (I’m a teacher and those high-school kids tend to wear me out), but I slept better than ever before at night. My knees no longer ached from walking upstairs. My mood had improved. I wasn’t constantly looking for snacks. And by the end of the month, with a healthy diet and continuing my normal exercise routine, I had dropped 1 inch from my waistline too. If those are side effects, then they’re the kind I think we could all use more of.

Last thoughts

Diving a little deeper into my research I was able to find a handful of possible Thrive side effects, but nothing too intense or all that likely. For example, because the Thrive Experience includes natural caffeine (such as from the aforementioned green coffee bean extract), those who suffer from caffeine sensitivity may experience things like nervousness, headaches, or trouble sleeping. That said, I have never been a major caffeine drinker and I didn’t notice any ‘jitters’ or other negative reactions when using Thrive products.

Also, those who have extremely sensitive skin or who fail to follow the directions for using the DFT (you have to replace it every day and rotate what patch of skin you place it on) may notice redness or irritation. But again, this is the exception rather than the norm. You can always play it safe by talking to your doctor to get their opinion before you start.

As for me, the only Thrive side effects I noticed were good ones. So, if you hate side effects as much as I do but you want to take a more positive approach to your health and fitness, I’d say that the Thrive Experience is worth a try. After all, there are enough dangerous chemicals in most of our lives; a natural, side-effect-free supplement may be just the thing your body has been looking for!
