ANNOUNCING NEW YOUNG LEADERSHIP AWARDSThe Network of Religious Communities in collaboration with the Susan Wehle Fund is now accepting applications for two new young leadership awards in memory of Cantor Susan Wehle.Susan Wehle was a leader in the interfaith movement in Buffalo who died tragically in the crash of flight 3407. She viewed everyone as an individual regardless of culture, religion, race, or belief and honored the shared humanity between us all. Wherever there was an opportunity for healing between peoples, Susan led the way.
THE SUSAN WEHLE INTERFAITH ACTION AWARD – $1,800
This award is intended to honor a young person (19-35 years old) in the greater Buffalo, NY area who has made a substantial commitment to cross-cultural dialogue and coexistence. If you know someone who you would like to nominate for this award, please fill out the form below.
One recipient will receive this award annually. Nominations are due by December 31st every year and are reviewed in the winter. The award is presented at the annual appreciation dinner of the Network Of Religious Communities in May.
THE SUSAN WEHLE INTERFAITH ACTION GRANT – $1,800
This grant is intended to help support a young person (19-35 years old) in the greater Buffalo, NY area who is working on or has an idea for a cross-cultural community-based project. This project should be focused on creating cross-cultural or interfaith dialogue and coexistence within the Buffalo community. If you or someone you know is interested in applying for this grant please fill out the application form below.
One recipient will receive this grant annually. Applications are due by September 30th every year and they are reviewed in the winter and the grant is presented at the annual meeting of the Network Of Religious Communities in January. In addition to the grant, the recipient will meet with leaders in the Buffalo interfaith community for mentorship in their pursuits.
