Grammy-winner LeCrae will open this summer’s Kingdom Bound Christian music festival at Darien Lake Theme Park & Resort on Sunday, August 4, 2013.
LeCrae’s recent album, “Gravity,” debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and at No. 1 on the Top Rap, Christian, Gospel, and Independent Albums charts. Time magazine highlighted the Houston-born rapper in a recent issue. And, in addition, “Gravity” won for “Best Gospel Album” at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
LeCrae blends Southern hip-hop influences with reggae and soul. His fans include basketball player Jeremy Lin and football player Tim Tebow. The married father of three lives in Atlanta, where he is both an artist and a minister.
Opening for LeCrae at this year’s Kingdom Bound is singer-songwriter Matthew West, known for hits like “More” and “You Are Everything.” West has written songs for artists like Billy Ray Cyrus, Rascal Flatts, and Mandisa. More recently, his song “Forgiveness,” has helped countless people forgive those who’ve wronged them, and will be a topic he’ll speak about during his set.
Kingdom Bound starts at 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Darien Lake, 9993 Alleghany Road, in Darien Center, New York, halfway between Buffalo and Rochester.
